Front Row: Cade, Hal & Barb Burns
In 1947 Erv Korkow produced his first rodeo in his home town of Blunt, South Dakota. He continued to add land and started a bucking stock breeding program. In 1958 Erv joined the PRCA and had stock selected for the very first NFR in Dallas in 1959. For over 45 years Korkow Rodeos has had stock at every NFR, a claim only two other contractors can make.
Jim, Erv’s son, bought the Korkow Rodeo Company when his dad passed away in 1993. The ranch is located 20 miles east of Pierre, South Dakota where Jim and his wife Carol & son, TJ, raise fifth and sixth generation bucking horses. It is truly a family affair as you will find Carol timing or handling the music production at many of their rodeos.
Son TJ is know as one of the best flank men going and is knowledgeable about all of the bucking stock and their individual bucking styles.
